Inspired by her travels overseas, the designer has brought this aesthetic back to New Zealand and for integration into her designs. She wanted to crate a statement piece for her showroom where customers felt transported to another part of the world without leaving the room.

Corian was the perfect choice for this kitchen island as it allowed the designer to work on the surface and mold it to our purpose. Corian was used to achieve gentle curves and textured flutes. The designer likes to use Corian in her projects for many reasons — not only for its non-porous and hygienic properties but also its ability to be fabricated into her signature seamless oversized kitchen islands. Creating a seamless look is achievable in not only plainer colours but also the highly patterned colours through expert fabrication which make the seams all but disappear.

This kitchen island is Corian Cirrus White, which has then been reversed. This delivers the creamy colours and mica of Cirrus White, with a more defined pattern & movement.
